About the role
MMD Steel Group is looking for an Accounts Practitioner for its Angola operation in Luanda. You sit inside the finance team of a working steel business: scrap purchases, plant costs, supplier payments and customer collections all pass through your hands before they reach the accounts.
What you will do
- Record supplier invoices, customer invoices and staff expense claims, matched to purchase orders and goods receipts and coded to the right cost centre.
- Keep accounts payable and receivable ageing current, chase overdue items and reconcile supplier and customer statements every month.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and support daily cash and treasury reporting.
- Prepare schedules for month-end close: accruals, prepayments, fixed-asset movements and intercompany balances.
- Support statutory filings and the annual audit with clean, referenced working papers.
What you bring
- A degree in accounting, finance or equivalent professional study.
- Two to four years in an accounting role; manufacturing, industrial or trading experience is an advantage.
- Practical work with an ERP; SAP Business One experience is valued.
- Portuguese and working English.
Where you will work
Luanda, Angola, on site with the Angola finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance.
