About the role
MMD Steel Group is hiring a Shredder Operator for its Burkina Faso operation in Ouagadougou. The shredder turns collected scrap into usable charge material; you operate that machine and keep it fed, safe and productive.
What you will do
- Operate the shredder and its feed system through the shift, watching load, current and vibration.
- Inspect incoming scrap and reject material that cannot safely go through the machine.
- Carry out routine checks and first-line maintenance: hammers, liners, belts, lubrication and screens.
- Clear jams and blockages under lock-out, tag-out discipline.
- Record output, downtime and consumption, and report abnormal behaviour immediately.
What you bring
- Technical certificate in a mechanical or plant trade.
- Two or more years operating heavy processing or crushing plant.
- Alertness to abnormal noise, heat and vibration, and respect for isolation procedure.
- French; shift work.
Where you will work
Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on site, on shift, reporting to the maintenance or plant in-charge.
