About the role
MMD Steel Group is hiring a Data Analyst and Accountant for its Benin operation in Cotonou. The role sits between finance and reporting: you keep the books and you turn what the business records into numbers management can act on.
What you will do
- Post and review accounting entries and support the monthly close.
- Build and maintain the operating reports the plant and the commercial team use: production, sales, stock, cost and receivables.
- Reconcile system data against physical and financial records, and find the cause when they disagree.
- Automate recurring reporting rather than rebuilding it by hand each month.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and audit requests with clean data.
What you bring
- Degree in accounting, finance, statistics or information systems.
- Two or more years combining accounting work with reporting or analysis.
- Strong spreadsheet skills and confidence in an ERP; SQL or a reporting tool is an advantage.
- French and working English.
Where you will work
Cotonou, Benin, on site, reporting to the Finance Manager.
