About the role
MMD Steel Group is hiring a Maintenance Fitter for its Mali operation in Bamako. You are the hands on the plant: preventive work done properly, breakdowns fixed to last.
What you will do
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on plant mechanical equipment.
- Attend breakdowns, find the mechanical cause and repair it.
- Fit, align and commission pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Assist in planned shutdowns and equipment overhauls.
- Record work done, parts used and faults observed.
- Follow isolation, lock-out and confined-space procedures every time.
What you bring
- Technical certificate in mechanical fitting or equivalent trade training.
- Three or more years as a fitter in an industrial plant.
- Competent with hand and power tools, bearings, seals, couplings and alignment.
- French; shift work.
