About the role
MMD Steel Group is hiring a Team Leader, Mechanical (SMS and Rolling Mill), for its Mali operation in Bamako. You lead a maintenance crew across the melting shop and the mill, and you are accountable for what that crew fixes and how safely it works.
What you will do
- Lead a mechanical maintenance crew across SMS and rolling mill areas.
- Plan and allocate preventive and breakdown work across the shift.
- Lead complex repairs personally: furnace mechanicals, casting machine, mill stands and auxiliaries.
- Drive root-cause analysis on repeat failures and close them out.
- Plan spares and job requirements ahead of shutdowns.
- Enforce isolation, lifting and hot-metal safety rules and coach the crew on them.
What you bring
- Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, or trade progression to supervisory level.
- Seven or more years in steel plant maintenance, including crew leadership.
- Real knowledge of SMS and rolling mill mechanical equipment.
- French; working English is useful.
