About the role
MMD Steel Group is hiring a Senior Maintenance Fitter for the Steel Melting Shop at its Mali operation in Bamako. The SMS is the hottest, hardest equipment on site; this role is for someone who has already worked there.
What you will do
- Maintain SMS mechanical equipment: furnace, ladles, continuous casting machine and auxiliaries.
- Execute preventive maintenance and lead corrective repairs during and after campaigns.
- Support furnace relining, ladle repair and casting machine changeovers.
- Diagnose recurring mechanical failures and propose durable fixes.
- Guide junior fitters on method, quality and safety.
- Apply hot-metal, isolation and lifting safety rules without exception.
What you bring
- Technical certificate or diploma in mechanical trade.
- Six or more years in heavy mechanical maintenance, with steel melting shop experience.
- Strong on hydraulics, alignment, rigging and precision fitting.
- French; shift and shutdown work.
