About the role
MMD Steel Group is hiring a Senior Maintenance Fitter for the Rolling Mill and Wire Rod Mill at its Mali operation in Bamako. Mill uptime is the business; this role protects it.
What you will do
- Maintain rolling mill and wire rod mill mechanicals: stands, guides, shears, coilers, coolers and conveyors.
- Execute preventive maintenance and lead corrective repairs to restore rolling quickly.
- Support roll changes, section changes and roll shop work.
- Analyse repeat failures, cobbles and guide wear, and act on the cause.
- Guide junior fitters on method and safety.
- Follow isolation and hot-material safety rules at all times.
What you bring
- Technical certificate or diploma in mechanical trade.
- Six or more years in rolling mill maintenance, wire rod mill experience preferred.
- Confident on mill setting, alignment, hydraulics and bearing work.
- French; shift and shutdown work.
