The job

About the role

MMD Steel Group is looking for a Finance Head for West Africa. You carry finance across several country operations rather than one plant: consolidated reporting, controls that hold in every entity, and the finance leadership each country team leans on.

What you will do

  • Own consolidated reporting for the West Africa entities and the quality of what each country submits.
  • Set and enforce one accounting policy, one chart of accounts and one closing calendar across the countries in scope.
  • Review country results with the general managers: margin, cost per tonne, working capital and cash.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting for the region and defend the numbers with group management.
  • Strengthen internal control across purchasing, stores, payments and inventory, and close audit findings for good.
  • Develop the country finance heads and their teams, and step in where an entity needs hands-on support.

What you bring

  • Qualified accountant with ten or more years of experience, including a multi-entity or regional role.
  • Manufacturing or heavy industry background, with genuine cost accounting depth.
  • Experience holding a standard together across countries with different local rules.
  • English and French.

Where you will work

West Africa, based in one of the group's operating countries, with regular travel to the plants.
