About the role
MMD Steel Group is looking for a Stores Manager for its Senegal operation in Dakar. You run the store as a controlled operation: what is held, what it costs, and whether maintenance and production can get what they need when they need it.
What you will do
- Manage stores operations end to end: receipt, inspection, identification, storage, issue and retrieval.
- Design and maintain a store layout that is safe, findable and efficient.
- Own stock accuracy: cycle counts, physical inventory, reconciliation and investigation of differences.
- Set and hold minimum and maximum levels for critical spares with maintenance input, and cut dead stock.
- Lead the store team: schedules, training, discipline and performance.
- Report stock value, movement, consumption and service level to management.
What you bring
- Degree or diploma in supply chain, stores management or a technical field.
- Six or more years in industrial stores, including team leadership.
- Strong inventory system discipline; SAP Business One experience is valued.
- French; working English is useful.
Where you will work
Dakar, Senegal, on site, reporting to the plant head.
