About the role
MMD Steel Group is hiring a Senior Fitter for its Mali operation in Bamako. You take the jobs that need experience: the repairs that have to hold, and the ones nobody else has cracked.
What you will do
- Lead corrective and preventive mechanical work across plant equipment.
- Overhaul rotating equipment, gearboxes, hydraulic systems and conveyors.
- Set alignment, clearances and tolerances correctly and prove the repair.
- Support shutdowns and major equipment installation.
- Guide junior fitters and check their work.
- Apply isolation, lifting and hot-work rules at all times.
What you bring
- Technical certificate or diploma in mechanical trade.
- Six or more years of heavy industrial fitting, steel plant experience preferred.
- Able to work from drawings and to measure rather than guess.
- French; shift and shutdown work.
