The job
About the role
MMD Steel Group is hiring a Foreman for its Benin operation in Cotonou. You run a working crew on the floor and are accountable for what that crew produces, and for how safely it does the work.
What you will do
- Allocate work across the shift and keep the crew productive against the day's plan.
- Supervise the work physically: quality, method, housekeeping and safe practice.
- Handle first-line problems and escalate what needs engineering or management attention.
- Track attendance, output and material use, and hand over the shift with a clear report.
- Train new workers on the job and enforce the use of protective equipment.
What you bring
- Technical certificate or trade qualification.
- Five or more years on an industrial shopfloor, with at least two supervising a crew.
- Credibility with a shopfloor team and the discipline to hold a standard.
- French.
Where you will work
Cotonou, Benin, on site, on shift, reporting to the plant supervisor.
