About the role
MMD Steel Group is hiring a CCM Fitter for its Rwanda operation in Kigali. The continuous casting machine turns liquid steel into billet; when it stops, the melting shop stops with it.
What you will do
- Maintain continuous casting machine mechanicals: mould, oscillator, withdrawal and straightening units, rollers and cooling systems.
- Prepare and change moulds and segments between casts and campaigns.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and respond to breakdowns during casting.
- Maintain the water-cooling and spray systems that protect strand quality.
- Record work done, wear and spare consumption.
- Follow hot-metal, isolation and lifting safety rules without exception.
What you bring
- Technical certificate or diploma in mechanical trade.
- Four or more years in steel plant maintenance; continuous casting experience strongly preferred.
- Confident with hydraulics, alignment and precision fitting.
- English; Kinyarwanda or French is an advantage. Shift and shutdown work.
