PURPOSE
The Finance Analyst (Accountant) is responsible for month-end close, standard costing and IFRS-compliant reporting for the Angola entity, and for preparing that entity's numbers for group consolidation in SAP Business One, ensuring accurate, timely financial information for local and Group management.
REPORTING LINE
Reports to the Country Finance Manager, Angola, with a dotted line to Group Finance for consolidation matters.
What you will do
- Owns month-end and year-end close activities for the Angola entity in SAP Business One, ensuring journals, accruals and reconciliations are complete and accurate.
- Maintains and reviews standard costing for inventory and production, investigating and explaining variances.
- Prepares statutory and management financial statements in accordance with IFRS, coordinating with external auditors as required.
- Prepares the entity's monthly consolidation package for Group Finance, ensuring intercompany balances and eliminations are correctly reported.
- Performs balance sheet reconciliations and follows up on ageing/open items with the relevant process owners.
- Supports budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for the Angola entity.
- Maintains SAP B1 chart of accounts, cost centres and master data integrity for the entity.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BSc/BCom in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or equivalent an advantage).
- Minimum 5 years' relevant accounting/finance experience, including standard costing and IFRS reporting, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial group.
- Working knowledge of SAP Business One (or a comparable ERP) and group consolidation processes.
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail; able to work to group reporting deadlines.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Within the first 3 months, month-end close is delivered on the group timetable with no material adjustments in the following month, the consolidation package is accepted by Group Finance without rework, and balance sheet reconciliations are current with no aged unexplained items.
