The job

About the role

The Accountant maintains the operating company's day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable and general-ledger postings in SAP Business One, and prepares the supporting schedules the Finance Manager needs for the monthly close.

What you will do

  • Post supplier invoices, staff expense claims and customer invoices in SAP Business One, matching to purchase orders/goods receipts and coding to the correct cost centre.
  • Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable ageing, chase overdue items and reconcile supplier/customer statements monthly.
  • Perform bank and cash reconciliations and prepare daily/weekly cash-position summaries.
  • Support the monthly close: accruals, prepayments, fixed-asset register updates and intercompany reconciliation schedules for review by the Finance Manager.
  • Maintain VAT/withholding-tax records and prepare supporting documentation for statutory filings and external audit requests.
  • File and archive accounting source documents in line with the Group's document-retention policy.

What you bring

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; part-qualification toward a professional body (ACCA/CIMA/CPA or local equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years' bookkeeping/accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or trading company.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Business One or a comparable ERP, and solid Excel skills.
  • High attention to detail and comfort working to a monthly close timetable.
  • Good written and spoken French/English as required by the operating country.

Where you will work

Office-based at the plant site finance department, with periodic peaks around month-end close and statutory filing deadlines.
