About the role
MMD Steel Group is looking for a Head of Finance for its Ghana operation in Tema. You lead finance for the plant: accounting, fund planning, local purchasing and import procurement, and the reporting the business is steered by.
What you will do
- Own daily, weekly and monthly fund planning, and short-term cash planning against payables and collections.
- Lead financial and sales accounting, month-end close and statutory reporting to deadline.
- Review and explain the unit's financial performance to local and group management, with recommendations behind the numbers.
- Oversee local purchase and import procurement, including supplier terms, letters of credit and landed cost.
- Maintain internal control over payments, purchasing, stores and inventory, and own the annual audit.
- Handle tax and statutory compliance in Ghana.
- Lead and develop the accounting team.
What you bring
- Qualified accountant or finance graduate (CA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAG or equivalent).
- Ten or more years in finance, including a leadership role in manufacturing or heavy industry.
- Strong ERP-based accounting; SAP Business One experience is valued.
- English.
Where you will work
Tema, Ghana, on site, reporting to the general manager with a line to the group finance function.
