Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Maintenance Manager owns the plant's mechanical and electrical maintenance programme across the melt shop, rolling mill and utilities, leading the maintenance team to maximise equipment uptime while controlling maintenance cost and enforcing safety standards.

What you will do

• Own the preventive/predictive maintenance plan for all production and utility equipment; track compliance and close the gap between planned and completed maintenance work.
• Lead breakdown response, root-cause analysis and corrective-action follow-through to cut unplanned downtime and repeat failures.
• Manage the maintenance team (mechanical and electrical technicians/engineers), including shift coverage, training and performance.
• Control the maintenance budget, spares inventory and criticality assessments for key assets, and manage maintenance contractors/vendors.
• Plan and lead maintenance shutdowns in coordination with the production and engineering teams, minimising production loss.
• Enforce lock-out/tag-out, permit-to-work and other HSE requirements across all maintenance activity; investigate maintenance-related incidents.

What you bring

• BEng/BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent extensive practical experience.
• Minimum 7 years' maintenance experience in steel, mining or heavy manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a maintenance leadership role.
• Strong grounding in both mechanical (rolling mill, cranes, hydraulics) and electrical (MV/LV, drives, PLCs) plant maintenance.
• Proven CMMS/maintenance-planning discipline and spares-management experience.
• Demonstrated people-leadership across a multi-disciplinary maintenance team.

Plant-based role with regular shop-floor presence; on-call for critical breakdowns; full PPE required.
