About the role
MMD Steel Group is hiring an Accountant for its Benin operation in Cotonou. You keep the ledger accurate and the month-end honest in a business where scrap, production and sales all move fast.
What you will do
- Post supplier invoices, customer invoices and expense claims against purchase orders and goods receipts.
- Maintain payables and receivables ageing, chase overdue accounts and reconcile statements monthly.
- Handle daily cash and bank reporting and reconciliations.
- Prepare month-end schedules: accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and intercompany balances.
- Support statutory filings, tax returns and the annual audit.
- Support production and commercial reporting with reliable cost and sales data.
What you bring
- Degree in accounting or finance.
- Three or more years in an accounting role, ideally in manufacturing or trading.
- Confident in an ERP; SAP Business One experience is valued.
- French and working English.
Where you will work
Cotonou, Benin, on site, reporting to the Finance Manager.
